Hello,
I'm Aimee

about me
I'm Aimee Bataclan, a writer and communications strategist.

In the fourth grade, I was placed in my school's Writing Mentorship Program. I was already an avid reader, thanks to Roald Dahl and Ann M. Martin, but in that class something changed. I realized that I too had the power to tell stories.
A decade later, I moved to America to attend UC Berkeley. I joined the campus Filipino organizations out of homesickness, and found community. With new friends, I wrote a play for Pilipino Cultural Night, performed spoken word at open mics, and edited Maganda, the Filipino literary arts magazine.

Over the past 12+ years, I built a career at the intersection of equity and storytelling. From blogs to videos to infographics, I've created communications to educate and advocate for climate justice, women's rights, and responsible technology.

Motherhood and the pandemic brought me back to my first love: fiction. In picture books, YA romance, and magical realism, I rediscovered my love for reading and writing.

I've chosen to pursue traditional publishing to show my kids what it looks like to pursue your dreams. I'm also doing it for the fourth grade girl who first discovered her superpower in telling stories.
